On November 24th at approximately 9:46pm I was stopped by an IMPD Officer for what the officer said "it looks like" I ran a red light. The audio recording along with my notes can be found here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpPeD-WA_AgThe officer then proceeded with invasive questioning that was outside the purpose and scope of the stop. He was joined by two members of the state police, one of which unlawfully searched my vehicle without my consent in violation of my Fourth Amendment rights. While many may say this video does not prove my claim that the officer could not have even possibly seen the color of the light from his location several vehicles behind me - remember - I was there. I was the front vehicle in the row of 4-5 at this particular light. When it turned green I immediately proceeded through. My only thought is that the vehicle behind me may have not been paying attention and didn't go right away, giving the officer the impression the light was still red. Either that or he fabricated the probable cause to initiate a stop because I was driving a vehicle similar to one involved in a burglary as indicated in the audio recording.
