A piano roll of the great stride piano master James P. Johnson. This is one of my favorite pieces played by him. Enjoy it!

Dec 5, 2008 - Sure it's a little out-of-tune, but I'm so glad to have a recording of this roll! I have an exact transcription of this roll in the folio "Piano Roll Sampler" transcribed, edited and published by Bob Pinsker, 2007. It is available from him (contact me for details). It also includes a transcription of Johnson's roll of "Black Bottom Dance" by Perry Bradford, as well as rolls by Cliff Jackson, Jimmy Blythe, Lemuel Fowler, etc. Great book.

Dec 5, 2008 - Thank to both of you guys for listening. It's true, the piano it's a little out of tune but amazing. I'm surely interested in your MIDI and sheet music files about this piece. I've some Jelly Roll Morton's sheet music and I'm trascribin two pieces of Pete Johnson and Fats Waller. Let's keep in touch. Diego. ;)
