A group of freelance scientists led by Dr. Vijay ingole from Amravati comprising Mr. Padmakar Lad, Mr. Shirishkumar Patil, Mr. Dnyaneswar Damahe and Mr. Pradeep Hirurkar has been discovered a cave painting in Tapti valley deep inside the Satpura mountain range in Madhya Pradesh inJan 2006 . From the style and color of the painting (like Bhimbetka) it appears that these cave paintings might be more than 15000 years old (upper Paleolithic).
